So.Co.Short is a non-invasive electro-medical device that offers an innovative therapeutic approach to painful pathologies in which the essential component is represented by inflammation, neurosensory and microcirculation alterations.
Its operation is based on the generation of electrical micro impulses with variable frequency, duration and intensity, conveyed to the patient trans-cutaneously by electrodes placed near the painful area.
The So.Co.Short device is effective in a multimodal approach to the treatment of painful inflammatory pathologies and can represent a valid therapeutic alternative in the presence of contraindications to pharmacological treatment (PTV congress abstract, 38th AISD National Congress 17/06/2015).
The treatment provided by So.Co.Short belongs to the large group of electrotherapy, but differs from the others in the type of voltage pulses delivered and in the current values much lower than those of any other electrotherapy instrument.
It has a “high passive safety”, which is a sure guarantee for the patient.
The action of So.Co.Short is referenced as described in the research led by Professor Mario Roselli, which involved the La Sapienza and Tor Vergata Universities of Rome and the laboratories / departments of Regina Elena and San Raffaele in Rome.
In 2005, the international journal InVivo published, in English, the results of the research confirming the local release, in the district where the lesion, inflammation or pain is detected, of VEGF (Endothelial Vascular Growth Factor) and nitric oxide, whose regenerative and analgesic properties are known.
Various universities use the So.Co.Short method including the Tor Vergata Polyclinic which, in the Pain Medicine department, uses it as a daily routine and has over 4,000 successfully treated patients to its credit, and the Chair of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine of the G. D’Annunzio University which uses it in the treatment of pain during the implementation of the complex rehabilitation plan.
The treatment provided by So.Co.Short is not incompatible and can be carried out in conjunction with other therapies. The So.Co.Short treatment has no contraindications, except for those of the law relating to pacemaker wearers and women who are in the first weeks of pregnancy.So.Co.Short electromedical equipment is CE certified and registered with the Ministry of Health.

MUSCULOSKELETAL PATHOLOGIES
With regard to musculoskeletal pathologies, the action of So.Co.Short finds efficacy in the development of phenomena of increase in the conduction capacity of nerve fibers and micro circulation in the musculoskeletal tissues inherent in the structure of the locomotor system pathology. Of great interest is the action on the algogenic framework present in the musculoskeletal structures with an important reduction in pain both in the joint and in the local tissue; furthermore, another important chapter is the action carried out on the tissues affected by algodystrophy, otherwise defined as Complex Regional Pain Syndrome where it is possible to witness an increase in the specific capacities of the various nerve, motor and circulatory conduction tissues that allows the rehabilitator to perform manual incisive therapeutic action.
VASCULAR PATHOLOGIES
As far as the action on vascular pathologies is concerned, the role of So.Co.Short is important in increasing the phenomena of superficial and deep tissue perfusion. This results in important results in vascular pathologies both linked to vascular alterations of the arterial microcirculation and alterations of venous circulation; important results are obtained by applying the micro currents generated by So.Co.Short around both recent and not recent ulcerative skin lesions in vasculopathic subjects.
NEUROPATHIC PATHOLOGIES
The alteration of nerve transmission is characteristic of compressive neuropathic pathology. The So.Co.Short instrument with the generation of its micro currents is able to determine phenomena of great reparative and regenerative interest with a reduction of painful pictures and recovery of the nervous conductive capacity of the compressed nervous structures due to damage at the level of the emergence of the nerve roots at the level of the vertebral canal with evidence of clinical pictures such as cervico-brachialgia sciatica and also pictures of damage to the structures located in the nerve plexuses. Nevertheless, the instrument has shown strong ability to increase the state of well-being by reducing pain and paresthetic pictures present in compressive nerve syndromes related to the compression of peripheral nervous structures in osteo-fibrotic tunnels with suffering, for example, of the median nerve to the carpal tunnel for peripheral neuropathy of any origin.
